Dear friends in Armenia,
It is with pleasure that I am writing to you this letter from the Kingdom of
Playland - neither a game nor fiction but a beautiful country created by its
nationals, young English langauge learners, in the Sea of Cyberspace.
Within the first two weeks of our existance we had already received diplomatic
recognition from the Aerican Empire and Republic of Molossia and the BBC were
talking about us. Still thirsty for more recognition (and to be taken a little
more seriously), however we have begun negotiating for an area of land,
surrounded by Northern Lithuania, and are increasing the number of our
embassies in UN recognised states.
Initially beginning as a fun activity for young English language learners we
soon realised that our Kingdom could be a valuable nation, not only to enthuse
others like us to learn English but also in making other people listen to what
young people have to say - a nation created by young people and run by young
people, we are firm advocates of children's rights.
